This charcoal piece was inspired by my own Irish Dexter herd members—Clover, Heidi, and Cleo. They are adorably nosey and always curious, leaning in as if they're posing for the perfect selfie. Although they aren't as popular or "emo" as the long-haired Scottish Highlands, they do grow the best little curly toupees in the winter, and I just loved capturing that charm in charcoal. There's something wonderful about celebrating the quirky beauty of these sweet, inquisitive creatures who may not get as much attention as their shaggy cousins, but are just as full of personality.
