Great Grey Owl

There is something almost otherworldly about encountering an owl—the way time seems to pause, the air stills, and you find yourself held captive by that piercing, ancient stare. The Great Grey Owl moves through the forest on silent wings, a ghost among the trees, and to witness one is to brush against something wild and sacred.

This piece is part of my Owl Series, a study in feather detail and the depth of those knowing eyes, all rendered in charcoal pencils on recycled tinted paper. It's a delicate process, deliberate and slow, as the paper itself is fragile—much like those fleeting moments when we're lucky enough to lock eyes with these magnificent creatures. Each stroke is an attempt to capture not just their physical beauty, but the quiet magic they carry with them through the darkness.

All giclee prints are made using archival, pigmented inks. This fine art print allows you to see all the detail from the original drawing and will last generations.
